The Vintage Computer Registry is a list of some old and rare computers. The purpose of the Vintage Computer Registry is to preserve information, history, whereabouts and condition of rare and/or unique computers. Independent, free to use, not influenced by the interests of any individual, company or organization and without any rating system.
For now, only computer are eligible to be listed.
Of course, MANY more rare and/or older computer exist. Why not a registry for more / all computer? It is a lot of work, really. And nobody will imagine how much work. Any kind of automated system for users are vulnerable for fake / wrong entries. Honestly, to many people have to much time and publishing fake posts or just disturbing others. Some kind of moderation is necessary. To maximize the reliability, there is the policy 'no picture, no listing'. It is not failsafe.
There is a C64 and Apple II Registry (diskpreservation.com). I don’t want to run into competition and therefore I asked 2019 the owner of the registry, Peter Rittwage. He kindly answered, that I am welcome to do something with more detail.
As a nice side effect, the Vintage Computer Registry add a lot of authenticity, provenance and security to any listed computer.
